King of Kooks is a passion-driven media project dedicated to documenting and celebrating UK surf culture. We focus on the people who make up our coastline—the underground chargers, backyard shapers, everyday surfers, and creative minds who live for the ocean.

We’re not here to chase clout or exploit surf culture. We’re here to tell real stories, capture raw moments, and showcase the unsung heroes of the UK surf scene.

What We Do

Through photo, film, and storytelling, we shine a light on the unique individuals who shape British surfing. Our projects include:

• 🎤 "Jam on Top" Series – Interviews uncovering the personalities behind the waves.

• 🎥 "Shire Mixtapes" – Fun edits highlighting everyday surfers doing what they love.

• 📸 Photography & Social Collaborations – Capturing moments in the water with UK talent.

• 📖 Upcoming Book Project – A long-term vision to document and celebrate UK surf culture.

 

We self-fund everything, and while this isn’t about making a profit, we need support to sustain the project.

We love the UK surf community, and we protect it. That’s why:

✅ Community-first mindset. It’s about people, not exposing waves.

We have top-tier content that will never see the light of day because protecting surf culture matters more than chasing engagement.

Why We Need Support

Since launching King of Kooks, we’ve invested over £20K in gear and spend £150+ per month on software, website hosting, and data management—not including travel costs or equipment depreciation.

With community support, we can:

• Upgrade camera gear for even better content.

• Cover travel expenses to document more of the UK surf scene.

• Fund the book project that will tell the untold stories of UK surfers.
